I always tell people, my whole life has been based on "movement". I have been a performer as long as I can remember, having grown up as a dancer and actor in school musicals, which led me to major in theatre for my undergrad. My theatre degree taught me the importance of movement as it relates to character development. How a character feels might impact how they move and influence a performance. A lifelong passion for theatre and general exercises also influenced my journey in becoming a PT.

I was a swimmer in high school, but it wasn't until my early 20s when I became a certified group fitness instructor and ran my first half marathon at 28 that my passions increased. My theatre background helps me look at how people move in a different way as it relates to physical therapy.

Through group fitness and running, I have met countless people of all ages, which opened my eyes to how important movement is no matter what age you are! Being able to help my running friends and my group fitness buddies and participants is what led me to a path in physical therapy.

I have been known for years to be a great cheerleader who helps people work harder and feel better, but until I completed PT school, I was missing a piece when it came to injury prevention and eliminating pain. Through my Physical therapy journey, I have opened a door to encourage everyone to move no matter what level!

As a pelvic floor therapist, I Love educating clients on the importance of fluid intake and that leaking with activity does NOT have to be their norm! Although very common, there are ways to improve and even eliminate such symptoms with activity.

My clients' continued passion to do more also inspires me to do and want more. As a recreational half marathoner and triathlete, I am looking forward to my next race! My next big goal will be competing in a half iron man. Although the task is intimidating, the challenge will be fun and I know I will have help along the way.

The best person to help you feel better is one who understands how important and how scary it can be to try something new, especially when you've experienced a long road of recovery. My goal is for every person I work with to feel confident enough to keep moving for LIFE!

I love living life to the fullest and movement is a huge part of that.

I was born and raised in South Jersey, right outside of Philly in the same zip code as our main office is located. I played roller hockey with the neighborhood kids, youth sports, high school varsity sports and even co-ed college intramural basketball.. I went to Temple University where I got my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science (2005) and then my Doctorate in Physical Therapy (2011), Go Owls! I love sports and feel that we can learn a lot about life through playing with and on a team.

After college I not only played in various cover bands and rocking onstage, but was also a roller derby athlete for many years. I continue to have a passion for treating Derby athletes. I started Sisu PT in the lobby of a Crossfit gym (shout out to Adversary Fitness) and saw the need for this style of healthcare right away. People just started getting better, not only faster, but even BETTER than they were before they started with me.

Oh, I’m also a proud member of the inclusive Hegeman String Band where we continue to carry on the 100+ year old  tradition of music and movement alike. So I get it. You want to KEEP doing the things you live, and I’m here for it. I help people live a high performance rockstar life. Go Birds.

Sara | Client Relations Specialist

Sara

Client Relations Specialist

In 2016, I embarked on a transformative journey into the realm of fitness. Feeling somewhat adrift in life, I decided to take a pivotal step by applying for a front desk position at a local gym. My rationale was simple: by immersing myself in an environment where individuals were committed to enhancing their physical well-being and overall quality of life, I would be inspired to do the same. It turned out to be a decision that would profoundly impact my life. As someone with a background in psychology and sociology, I was particularly intrigued by the psychological and sociological aspects of fitness and self-improvement, which became an integral part of my newfound passion.

My role within Sisu Physical Therapy is, Client Relations Specialist. In short, that means that I am here to solve problems before they arise. I help the doctors with office tasks so they can efficiently focus on their clients.
